So strange, perhaps, you've never seen anything like it. We are talking about the Krzywy Domek, literally "crooked house," which undeniably ranks among the weirdest buildings in the world. Its architectural structure and the uniquely curved and irregular lines that define it truly make it spectacular.

In this photograph, this Polish house seems like an optical illusion or a bizarre element from some surrealist painting. Because it is so perfectly distorted that it appears fake. Someone has dubbed it the drunken house because one thing is certain, it really struggles to stay "upright."

If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, we would probably swear we were looking at an optical illusion or, at best, an artwork by Dalì. But that in Sopot, Poland, is a house made of brick and concrete, and it's also a rather appreciated tourist attraction, because not only can you observe it up close, but you can also enter it.

The crooked house in Sopot actually houses a shopping center with shops and restaurants that spans 4,000 square meters. And in addition to being one of the most appreciated and visited attractions in the entire country, it is also a meeting place for nightlife lovers, given the clubs and discos found in that area.

With its curved façade and bouncy appearance, Krzywy Domek has become a true star over the years. But who came up with the idea of creating such a bizarre building? The crooked house bears the signature of architects Szotyńscy and Zaleski. And anyone who recognizes elements at the edge of reality isn't mistaken.

The two architects actually drew inspiration for the creation of this building from the illustrations of illustrator and set designer Jan Marcin Szancer and poet Per Dahlberg. And be careful because it's not just the façade that's crooked, but also the doors and windows - as can be noticed - they present irregular traits and lines.

It's no surprise, then, that for all these peculiarities, the crooked house is now one of the most frequented and most Instagrammed attractions. Try checking social media with the hashtag #KrzywyDomek: you'll notice that this building is a true star!
